The repair technician responded to my residence today around 1630 hrs. The complaint is picture freeze and no audio the entire night. Picture was playing good but he said he would check to find the cause. Once he made unseen checks he gave an excuse of putting my residence in a 48 hour review. Explanation made no sense at all and I am up with an injury with no reception at all. Technician behaved in a manner which indicated he knew the possible problem, because he never checked signal strength or changed boxes. Is my signal being weakened at night?? thanks in advance CarlK Re: email server (outgoing) I was losing so much mail late last year, that I changed my email address at most services to my gmail or icloud mail addresses. I still have a few people or companies sending to my Cox address, mainly low-priority stuff, to keep track of Cox service. A few days ago, all Cox incoming mail stopped. I quit using Cox to send mail a couple of years ago, except for an occasional test, since it was useless when away from home, anyway. When incoming mail failed before, I still got it on my iPhone, and could still read it on webmail. I just sent a test from One of my Cox addresses to the other, and it went through, so it is up again. Re: e-mail server issues?? My Cox email works on my iPhone, and I have no problem with the classic web mail. For the last couple of months, I have been frequently missing my Cox email on my Macs. If it is important enough and I really want to see or save it on my iMac, I use my iPhone to forward it to my gmail or icloud accounts. They have been quite reliable during this time. Once in a while, the mail does reach my Macs, so it doesn't seem to be a problem on my end. I have changed my account setups with most senders to send to my gmail or icloud instead of Cox, so it is a less critical problem, now. It is still very annoying. When I find mail that is not being delivered, I check the sender's site to see if I can redirect it. After all this time, it seems unlikely that Cox will ever fix it. Re: No e-mail Today, I was surprised to see my Cox email on my computer for the first time in many days. Not that I get much on Cox now that I've moved most of it elsewhere. Nothing changed on my end, but here it was, at last. I still moved another sender to gmail, anyway, so if I ever have to leave Cox, it will be pretty painless. Re: No e-mail I get email on my phone just fine, but no Cox email ever reaches my computer. I can also send just fine from computer or phone. I used my phone to forward most of my Cox email to my gmail account, so I could read it on my Mac. Today, I looked for account links on all my Cox email and used them to go change my email address on each sender. I meant to do that some time ago, in case I ever need to leave Cox. I have a few more places to get rid of my Cox address, then I can leave any time. Some of my regular email is junk, so I didn't bother to change those. Re: IMAP email problem I am not getting my Cox IMAP email on my Mac today, but it shows up on my iPhone just fine. My MacBook Pro doesn't get any Cox mail either. Gmail works fine, as does iCloud mail. The mail is still there when I look at it on webmail. I am forwarding it from my iPhone to gmail or iCloud, and that works fine. Re: No e-mail I am getting my email on my iPhone, but not on either Mac. I finally started forwarding the emails I want to read on a Mac to my gmail or iCloud addresses from my phone. I may go to the senders and change my email address if this doesn't get fixed soon. Re: BEWARE...if you have a MAC running Yosemite and download McAfee from COX!!!! I've never downloaded or installed anti-virus from Cox on my Mac. The Apple virus protection system built in to the Mac seems to work fine. Just say no to McAfee or Norton on a Mac.
