I cleared and reset all of my outlook settings and also changed IP on my VPN. Lost a few emails but then everything started working as normal and no more bounce-backs of outgoing email from Cox. Have no idea if it was one factor, a combination, or something else over which I had no control. Thanks again for yours and Becky's help, and for the help of all who made suggestions. Then went through and set everything back the way it was and even changed my VPN routing through another IP. Tried again and at that point was able to get an email message through. Sent several other test messages but they seem to be lost in space right now---good news, no "spam" message bounceback from Cox yet, bad news not all showing up yet. Very strange, have never had a problem like this before with either Outlook or Cox. Am shutting down for the day and give everything a chance to rest tonight. Will try again in the morning and contact you further if the messages show up working, but at this point looks like there is still some kind of problem. All thoughts appreciated, thanks. What then could be the trigger for the Cox message blocking sending through Outlook? I am puzzled because after making the changes previously mentioned I was able to send test email once or twice from Outlook, then further emails were blocked again. This happened on both the main Cox account and also the subsidiary email account (which is used on a different computer but also through Outlook). Assuming that I hopefully followed all of your suggestions correctly, what could be the cause of Cox blocking them? Any other suggestions? Thank you. Changes showed fine in Outlook and in Microsoft test message, then allowed me to send one test message from my Outlook, then next message bounced back with same error message that Cox thought it was spam. Very frustrating and seems to be a problem on the Cox side. Can Cox clear my individual and default email addresses as "thisisnotspam" and, if so, who do I contact and how? Have previously tried and am unable to reach Cox by telephone or live chat on Internet questions. Thank you. Went through account setup again as per Zookeep. Becky, tried your suggestions and got one test email through ok, then it started blocking again. Now blocking both my default cox account and a secondary cox account with same message that outgoing email is spam. I use a VPN and Avast but in Outlook test for connections I get the an internal error message for the ISP which is 552 5.2.0. Tried sending a test email with VPN off, same result. Becky, just in case please give the correct for Cox account setup numerical settings again, including whether ssl/tls or something else. Now using 993 and 465 with ssl/tls. Also, authentication was and is checked. This message has been found to be a potential spam message, and has therefore been blocked. Please visit http://ww2.coxagainstspamfor more information." Checked Outlook account settings and got response that it could login into incoming mail server but that operation timed out waiting for response from SMTP server. Cox link included in its response discusses incoming and not outgoing email. Also, unable to reach Cox by telephone or by live Chat for this webmail problem - has Cox changed its policy regarding contact procedures for webmail issues to eliminate telephone/live chat? All assistance appreciated, thanks!
