How do I know if my neighborhood node will be targeted to go from 35/up to 10/up? I use on average 1.2tb/mo and I'm becoming increasingly worried that Cox is gonna pull the rug out from under me as I'm trying to survive and work from home. I understand this user was using 8x the data I use monthly, but because of this pandemic I literally do not have the option of working anywhere but home. Is Cox going to ruin me and my family financially because you don't invest in capacity properly? Because you didn't have aemergencyplan? I'm already convinced you're the worst ISP I've ever given money too, now I'm concerned I'll have to break my lease and move if Cox can't manage their network properly, or at the very least not over-sell your nodes. Can the community get a definitive answer from Cox on what is the "appropriate amount of data" I should use on my "unlimited data plan" every month before you throttle me? Can Cox tell us exactly how much data we customers are "supposed to use" that doesn't break Cox's terms and conditions (which are incredibly vague and do not give actual figures). For reference I've been in contact with the Cox Executive Escalation team who informed me that my neighborhood node is saturated up to 80% and no work order is placed to fix or split traffic from said node until 3rd quarter. No date to expect, no work order, no further information just a guessing game as to when these constant outages, lag and packet loss will end. Just under 1 year as a Cox customer, over 40 techs sent to my residence, 9 months of back and forth with Cox, 3 FCC complaints tosimply get them to LOOK at the nodeand hundreds of hours on the phone with you Cox. Then the pandemic hits and great, everything's worse then ever. Thanks Cox! Another reason to stress in the digital age! Re: Las Vegas: Constant Lag, Packet Loss & Highly Inconsistent Upload/Download Speeds This problem is 100% confirmed a Cox Communications network issue. This was confirmed by the Cox Comm Executive Escalation team that the first hop from my modem has 80% congestion. "Frustration" at a monopoly ISP in my area for under-investing in infrastructure for years which is the cause of all these problems is an understatement. Cox Comm wanted a monopoly is Las Vegas, so at the very least, fix your network so I stop wasting money on your internet and my time with your tech support. Because you know what? I have no other choice then to be an unhappy Cox customer, or I guess I can just move out of the state entirely. Cox, you know there is a problem, you've admitted it. Fix. The. Problem. Thanks Cox! Re: Internet outage in Southern Las Vegas I have literallydone everything I can with you. I've emailed you, spent close to 60 hours on the phone with you, have had 20 techs out to my home, filed FCC complaints... Everything. The problem is with your network, with the node I'm connected to, which Cox told me is 80% congested. So if the first hop from my modem is 80% congested, what is email support gonna do? Las Vegas: Constant Lag, Packet Loss & Highly Inconsistent Upload/Download Speeds Lag the last few days has been unacceptable. I understand the node I'm connected too it 80% congested and Cox doesn't have plans for months to fix it. I understand Cox has told me to be patient, but I'm paying my bill every month and you're simply not providing me quality internet. I pay for gig speed and today my network check showed less then 400down and the upload was highly inconsistent. This behavior from Cox is unacceptable. Fix my neighborhood problems how on earth did Cox's entire network congestion become their customers problem? What other industry is the acceptable? Fix your network problems Cox! Re: Internet outage in Southern Las Vegas Constant outages for me in S Las Vegas, for about 2 months now. On and off throughout the day, constantly. So irritated Cox isn't working faster to fix this. Re: 3 outages of 6 hours, 2 over 12 hours in the last 10 days, in Las Vegas In S. Las Vegas, internet has been atrocious since the beginning of lock down. I was told by Cox that they would split the node for my neighborhood sometime in 3rd quarter. They acknowledged the node is 88% congested. So I'm paying for service I don't receive and I have to wait months and months for a fix. Las Vegas: 88% Node Saturation, Failed Upload Speeds & Near Daily Outages I was told by the Executive Escalation team that the node I'm connected too is a known problem in Cox's network. 88% congestion causing my connection to be highly unstable with near daily drops. The same office informed me that there are plans to split traffic off of this node sometime in the 3rd quarter of this year. This is crazy Cox Comm! You're telling me I'm going to have highly subpar, broken internet for months and months with no guaranteed resolution and certainly no follow up, all while you know there is a problem. Fix your network Cox! People are trying to survive by working from home and you'rethe bottleneck. Las Vegas: Cox needs to address city-wide issues immediately Some of us have to work from home Cox. Please fix your overly-congested network and resolve this insane latency issue everybody is dealing with. My neighbors increased internet usage should not throttle my speeds to the point where I cannot either work, or even game in my free time. Worst internet service I've ever had in my life. I feel like I'm being stolen from paying my full bill every month and receiving a fraction of the speed I'm paying for. This is all directly related to increased usage because of the stay-at-home order, and it's glaringly obvious that your network is not capable of handling the services you've sold your customers. Once again, I have to work from home, but am unable to do so because of the high-ping, latency, constant drops of service and virtually no upload speed. Las Vegas: Upload Stream Failures, Every Single Night Cox, Fix your over-saturated nodes. Do it immediately. This is a national emergency situation, the government has asked us to stay home. My neighbors increased Netflix and FaceTime usage should not tank my internet service. Every, single, night I try to work and utilize my upload speed and it fails, every, single, night. You've already sent a tech out who "tightened a connection" and "fixed the problem", and its literally worse now then before. This is not your Tech's fault, this is a failure at the executive level. Cox, you are failing your customers in a very important time of need. Shame on you. I'll be filing my second FCC complaint in a year right now because of your refusal to provide me with the service I pay for. When my lease is up at my current residence in Las Vegas I'll be moving to another city with a responsible ISP, not because I want to, but because I cannot work and perform my job with Cox as my provider. Signed, Unfathomably disappointed customer. Las Vegas: High Ping, Reduced Speeds, Packet Loss Constant ping, reduced speeds and packet loss all throughout the day and night. Not receiving the speeds I pay for, but I need the plan I have for work. Now I'm constantly unable to work because your nodes are overwhelmed with bandwidth. This shouldn't be my problem to fix, but Cox has offered no path to resolution to these problems. Please fix these issues immediately.
