But I do miss that toilet repair education that Cox techies didn't get a chance to make me try. And I bet it was coming... Cheers... Re: Unable to access POP3 e-mail without VPN Sure, while working on my email forwarding problem today, I discovered that most of those free email providers offer pop3 and smtp. I tested some of them, and they seem to work fine; not counting some forced ads, which is a minor inconvenience. So, you might wanna look into it. Good luck. Re: Cox is now blocking/dumping forwarded emails Of course it's possible Cox started firewalling something between Directnic server and Cox server. It's quite likely actually. Directnic only does my email forwarding to cox.net address at dns level. And if this is the case, wouldn't it be Cox responsibility to investigate/trace and tell me what exactly they are firewalling? I had dsl service from ATT for 12 years before Cox. Their customer service was horrendous, like you had to wait on hold for an hour every time. However, I can't recall any technical issues with ATT that I was unable to resolve. And never had so much trouble with my email as I've been having with Cox. And about Cox's techsupport? My Gosh, I think I have a better chance to get response/help from a pile of bricks than Cox's support. What we observe here is Cox firewalling their own paying customers, literally. I will get in touch with Directnic network admin on Monday and request them to trace email forwarded to cox.net. They say only forwarding to Cox is affected, and none others. (And I also tested forwarding via Directnic to outlook address). But even if Directnic finds some Cox's email blockage, I doubt Cox is going to fix anything. Can't trust Cox, they are hurting my business more and more with this insanity. At the same time, they are never late to send their bill. Anyone can recommend decent pop service? Thanks in advance. Re: Unable to access POP3 e-mail without VPN Yep, and I just received email from a different cox tech-supporter, who stated "there was no problems with the Cox servers or e-mail service." Welcome to comedy club. Re: Cox is now blocking/dumping forwarded emails Well, I am beginning to think that I just unwittingly joined a comedy club. To be fair, I have to report that I was not ignored and received today 2 responses from Cox techsupport. The first in the morning, the guy writes: “I understand you would like to know about your account information.” Say what? The second response, a different guy says, “there was no problems with the Cox servers or e-mail service … we suggest you to try to use Enhanced Webmail … Cox does not provide support for e-mail clients software or e-mail in mobile devices” Ok, I may admit, my English must be terribly incoherent. But please, dear Cox, let me try this again: Email forwarding from other addresses to Cox addresses appears to be blocked/dumped by Cox since Dec 9, 2015. That is the problem. Your technicians ought to fix it because all clues point out to Cox’s end. Now, if the next response I get from Cox advising me how to repair my toilet (perhaps it’s my toilet that causes my email forwarding to fail, who knows, LOL) I think I would go commit myself to a mental institution. Cheers.. And my email forwarding still does not work… Re: Unable to access POP3 e-mail without VPN When I tried to chat with cox techsupport person earlier today about my problem (forwarding from my personal email to cox no longer works for 2 days now), he represented that cox were experiencing mail servers outage in my area since Dec. 9. He refused to elaborate what kind of outage they were having, just said their techs were working on it. Now you say, cox tier 2 told you they never had an outage? Unbelievable. And my forwarding still does not work... Re: Cox is now blocking/dumping forwarded emails Tecknowhelp, I do appreciate you trying to help. My true frustration is with Cox the so-called "techsupport" people who simply don't seem to care at all. Just 6 months ago, I was trying to figure out why Cox spam filter suddenly began blocking my outgoing legit emails. The thread is here: http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/internet_forum/f/5/t/7752.aspx Although few folks shared ideas on the mentioned thread, NONE of the Cox techsupport people even responded to my opened ticket, numerous calls, etc. With all clues suggesting that the Cox's delirious spam filter caused the issue, their official "techsupport" totally ignored me back then. Totally. Problem was never fixed. I learned to live with it. And now this - I can no longer receive any of my forwarded emails since 2 days ago. And again, all clues point to Cox, but I suspect Cox will ignore me here too. Monopoly is a wonderful thing for a holder, isn't it? Re: Not receiving forwarded emails from Gmail Similar issue with dumping forwarded emails started happening to me since 2 days ago. Have you found any clues as to what is going on? Please share. Thanks Re: Cox is now blocking/dumping forwarded emails Sorry, I fail to see relevance of this gmail article to the case at hand. I have no mail service from directnic, only email forwarding to my cox address. No headers to show you. And Directnic forwards fine, as I tested with new outlook account, but just not to Cox address anymore. Directnic likely forwards to Cox, but then the email goes into oblivion before or when or after it reaches Cox service. Just started happening. 1. Directnic claims ALL their clients with COX addresses just started seeing their forwarding fail, whereas their forwarding to all other email addresses works fine. 2. I confirmed #1 point myself with test forwarding thru Directnic to outlook email address. 3. Dec. 9 post on this very forum reports that his forwarding from Gmail to Cox address no longer worked all of sudden. How many more clues does one need to begin suspecting Cox's recent "foul play" in the causation of this issue? Pointing fingers on others is pointless. But if this problem is not fixed, Cox is de facto denying me mail service. Am I not paying enough? Re: Cox is now blocking/dumping forwarded emails Yes, email sent to cox.net address goes through. It's forwarding that is being dumped. Domain is goldstarweb.com, not blacklisted anywhere as far as I can tell. Directnic ips are unlikely blacklisted either (just forwarded to outlook, see my other post)
