My sons can no longer play X-Box One online games or Steam games without being booted out. I call customer service twice and did everything they asked. I even bought a new NetGear Router (today)j. It is their top of the line model and we still have the same problem. I did notice that we get an IP conflict error of some sort once in awhile. So, I have a new router, new wiring and same problems. Can you advise me on what to do next since it isn't a wireless equipment problem as it is brand new and I don't know how to fix an IP problem if that is what is wrong. Data Usage Meter Not Available My data usage meter has been down for the entire billing cycle. I realize that Cox does not charge for going over on data but I like to keep below 10GB a day with a target of 5GB so that I won't be an overuser. Is this problem unique to the MIddle Georgia area or are others not having access? It's been over a week. Re: Cox Data Usage Monitoring is Faulty Ed H. -I'm not so sure it was exclusively an Omaha issue. I live south of Atlanta and had several folks complaining of the same issue ... yet most folks didn't have any issue with the spikes. For the last 8 days (new billing cycle) I've had no spikes above 11.6 GBs used and normal days it is around 6 GB or less. Prior to the fix (that seemed to work for me as well) I was having days that spiked to 32 GB and normal days were around 12 GB yet I knew it wasn't possible based on our usage. Other than the irregular data usage meter numbers I've been extremely pleased with Cox and thank you for monitoring our situations. But, I had to clarify that it definitely was not an isolated issue. Re: Cox Data Usage Monitoring is Faulty My data usage has improved (though I didn't change any patterns of use) since we started posting. The average is about 8 GB per day as opposed to 13+ with some days spiking to 32! The biggest spike I've had this period is from 5.6 GB to one day was 11.13 GB. This all seems reasonable. Hope it stays this way. Re: Cox Data Usage Monitoring is Faulty I've had similar problems ... cut my personal usage by 66% but haven't seen much difference in usage (determined by the meter). I've noticed that Sundays my usage goes from as much as 11 (on a Saturday) to as much as 32 on Sunday. Sad thing is that I wasn't even home much on Sunday ... nor were my sons. My Sunday use goes up over Saturday very consistently making me feel there has to be a problem with the way it is metered. The Cox employee suggested the next time I go on vacation that I turn on the wireless and uplug the hard wired so that there is absolutely 0 intenet usage. I will be very interested to see those numbers but suggest others do the same so that we can finally stick this back to Cox. FYI, I had Comsouth untl last month and never came close to the numbers that Cox shows andmy family cutoverall use by 1/3 to 1/2. Re: Absurd Data cap idea on "cable service" I agree that their "Data" usage meter is not accurate! There were four days in which I supposedly exceeded 25 GBs. Only streamed movies on one of those days. One of the days was a Tuesday and I had worked all day! I changed my router (got a brand new one), changed my password and tracked my usage so I know that two movie downloads and some X-Box playing by my sons does not exceed 32 GBs on a Tuesday night!
