One thing I might suggest is changing my external IP address. reason being is I had a botnet infected Seagate cloud drive for a month that I didn't know about until I got an email from you guys where bitninja reached out to you about it. I decommissioned that drive and the problem went away but I'm wondering if somehow this is affecting it, like maybe Statefarm has some blacklist with my IP on it so it won't serve pages to me. Could we possibly change the DHCP address handed to my modem? Re: Unable to Access Statefarm.com on Any PC I'm at work now so now is a good time. Unable to Access Statefarm.com on Any PC On any computer in my house including our Mac when trying to access https://www.statefarm.com so I can pay my insurance bill it just times out and won't load. We have Cox internet service at work and I can access it from there so at least I can pay my bill from work but this is a little annoying, I've been paying it online from that site for years and suddenly now it's inaccessible. It has nothing to do with my browser or PC settings since it's happening on different PCs and even different operating systems so it has to be something being blocked on Cox side or something. Any ideas? Re: Constant disconnects the past few weeks. Here in SE KS we started having the same issue starting early last week but it got really bad starting Sunday. I went out and disconnected all of our cables outside the house that we aren't using, that being all our old cable TV connections that we no longer use leaving only the single internet cable and still having the same constant dropped packets. Contacted Cox and they are sending a tech out tomorrow afternoon, hopefully they find something as this is driving me nuts. We had the exact same issue exactly 1 year ago and it took 7 tech visits to get it resolved. Lets hope this isn't a repeat of last year in that respect. Re: Data cap ??? WTF?? It's been rolling out for months in certain states, we just got it here in KS starting in June I believe it was. Couple weeks ago however they added an unlimited data addon for an additional $50 a month so we just added that. Re: Data Cap I love how Cox says things like "we automatically provide you wil 50GB blocks of data for $10/block" and "we will be introducing unlimited data plans soon" oh gee thanks, I should feel happy that either way we are/will be paying more for our service than we have ever since Cox internet existed. Also tired of seeing "the majority of our customers get nowhere near 1TB" ya I don't really believe that, but if I'm wrong and it's true you got to take into account all the elderly customers who have internet or non-techie people who barely use the internet for anything other than email. But you also see tons of these people driving around 20mph under the speed limit, so that doesn't mean the department of transportation should therefore lower the speed limits everywhere does it? Re: Data Cap I use a Roku unit (not the stick) which continues to stream even after the TV is turned off. Of course it will, it's basically a mini computer and that would be akin to turning your monitor off while you left your PC streaming Netflix or whatever. I'm completely against the data cap don't get me wrong, but you still need to be diligent about things like leaving a device streaming data before you turn our TV/monitor off. Re: Data Cap Ya that's the annoying thing about the 2TB cap they used to have with Ultimate, if they still offered that we'd be perfectly fine with 2TB as we rarely go over that. We do get close to 2TB every month with normal usage but during the holidays I tend to buy a lot more games and games these days are 50GB+ a pop easily for AAA games and I have 2 of each console so that adds up fast. 2TB should be the minimum they offer imo at the Premiere and Ultimate tiers. I know they offer 2TB with Gigablast but in places like I live where that's not available that is completely unfair to me as I have no choice. Re: Why is the data cap the same from essential to ultimate? Ya it's like they assume when they talk about how many movies you can stream etc that everybody who has internet at home is a single user, when you have 5+ people in the house and multiple Xbox Ones and PS4s, Steam, cloud backups, and multiple people streaming Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, etc among other normal things like remotely working, browsing, email, etc it's way easy to chew up to 2TB+ a month. 1TB is a joke, 2TB would be slightly annoying but way doable for most people, I think 2TB would be closer to the 1% or whatever they say the power users use.
