ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Outlook constantly asking for email password I am going to mirror what duhmel said. If you want your email problems fixed then you need to complain to the FCC. It took a while to find the link but https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/access should get you close. 1. complain to the fcc 2. Cox customer happiness (customer satisfaction or whoever) calls 3. tech checks your most basic settings (pop.cox, LOGIN / PASSWORD yes really...) 4. at this point I told the tech that called me that duhmel had told me my account needed to be moved to a new server. He said 'no...that's not how it works'. I said great, have your boss call me w/a solution. 5. She called and said she'd move email accounts. 6. problem solved. No offense to any of the techs here. 1. If you are ignorant then that is not your fault. You are obviously not being told the truth. 2. I feel bad for you because you know the problem but have to keep giving the same old line KNOWING that the results will be the same. Read from the company manual or get fired... As far as I can tell the popups have stopped. It's been 4 or 5 days now. Obviously Cox mangled something and they either don't know how to fix it or it's too expensive to fix so they do nothing UNLESS YOU COMPLAIN TO THE FCC. Re: Outlook constantly asking for email password I will also note that the tech gave me the line that they do not support Outlook and that only access through Webmail is guaranteed. It's popped up so many times that I have finally just moved the window to a corner of my monitor. I'll hit it when I want to check for email. Re: Outlook constantly asking for email password < Just out of curiosity, what rule or regulation are you reporting to the FCC that Cox is breaking/bending? > No idea. Just doing what a previous poster suggested. I got the call from Cox customer relations vice pres (something like that). Couldn't call back and a week later I got a call from a tech saying he wanted to help. He walked me through the most basic settings of email and of course they were all correct. I told him about this thread and how another poster had complained to the FCC and got his email account moved to another server and he said that was not possible...there are only 2 server east pop.cox and west pop.cox but I don't think that's how it works! It's not like there is ONE box for pop.cox.net. So we went through the pointless steps and I told him to have his boss email me. That has not happened since yesterday. Pop ups ALL day so far but this time it is only the address that I talked to the tech about. Probably a coincidence but.... Pop up 3 times since I started typing this...and I'm a good typist. Re: Outlook constantly asking for email password Well there you go....I file a complaint with the FCC and within 3 days I have cox calling me seeking to resolve the problem! Re: Outlook constantly asking for email password No harm in trying. Re: Outlook constantly asking for email password amazing. I submit a claim to the FFC and immediately help arrives. Re: Outlook constantly asking for email password I went to that thread. It is 'solved'. That may explain why there is no support there. Re: Outlook constantly asking for email password I only see one reply by Chris L. Is their MO that they just stop replying? Refuse to acknowledge the problem. I live near wash dc so this is not new to me. Re: Outlook constantly asking for email password pp pp pp pp pp pp pp pp pp pp pp Re: Outlook constantly asking for email password I almost always authenticate. Maybe 1 out of 15 tries will get the log/pass request popping up. EXCEPT for 1 particular account which will sometimes pop up 2 or 3 times. But not always.... still annoying! Still shooting for the longest thread in the history of the 'net! or better yet, a solution.
