I have (3) Windows 10 systems - one is a standard PC (it works), one is a VM (activated, works), one is another VM (not activated, blocked). I was just told that I'm screwed because my system "doesn't meet the support requirements". So basically my only option is to completely change the way I use computers and run the most insecure platform that's ever been created. And you wonder why so many people have cut the cord... Contour Down? I haven't been able to access the Contour website all day. I've tried (3) different browsers (using Windows 10), and they all die at the same point (right after authentication): Sorry, we're having some trouble Contour is not available at the moment. Please try back soon. (Error ftde.xact.3307.1107296347) Am I doing something wrong? Re: Random Internet Connection Drops So far, so good. The Homelife system is actually working again; would have gotten rid of it last week, but the unbundling charges were outrageous. What's strange is that I was forbidden from entering a password with special characters for the admin account (on the router), but not on the WiFi - this needs to be fixed. From what the tech was saying, this issue comes up more often than it should. Re: Random Internet Connection Drops The tech came out to work on an issue with Cox Homelife; the internet issue was secondary. After going round and round trying to get the hub to reconnect to my new modem, it turns out that the modem doesn't play well with WiFi passwords that have special characters. After fixingthat, everything - including my intermittent internet issues - have gone away. If this really is the reason - and I'm still doubting that it is - why was I allowed to enter a password with special characters in the first place??? Re: Random Internet Connection Drops I've already got someone coming out tomorrow. Re: Random Internet Connection Drops Just replaced my last modem due to this exact same problem; mine was also randomly rebooting. Now, after 2 days with a new modem, I just had the internet die again (for only a few seconds). This has been going on for nearly a month now. Re: Outlook No, it's definitely Cox's problem. I've run into this exact problem on my Android phone (stock email client) and my PC (Linux, using Evolution client). I never have this issue (with the same clients) sending/receiving my Hotmail emails. Re: When Will Cox Support Google Chrome Can you give me an example? I only use Chrome (or Chromium on Linux) and haven't run into any problems with Cox pages. Re: Casting to the Contour from a desktop computer Get a Google Chromecast device; it's really cheap and works great.
