Cannot program mini-box remote to brand new RCA tv...

I've tried both the auto search method detailed on the back of the remote and the code entry method (using all the RCA codes listed on the Cox website)...to no avail.

When I tried the auto method, I held Select for over five minutes yet the tv never powered off. 

Any insight? Can it take longer to find the code?

    1.  Press and hold SETUP
    2.  Note POWER button blinks
    3.  Enter code
    4.  Press POWER button
    5.  If RCA remains on, try another code
    6.  If Volume and Mute don't work, try another code
