Recording video from a COX Mini STB.

I want to terminate Cox Contour service and switch to a Mini STB currently installed and previously unused.  For testing purpose I used an HDMI to connect the TV to the STB and found that I can watch everything I.e. CNN, Golf Channel, Fox, etc... (basic Cox service is provided by the Landlord).

I would like to add recording capability to the STB setup and think there may be a problem with HDCP... What are my options?

    The only way to bypass HDCP is if the Mini converts the signal to analog and outputs via RCA or coax.  The Mini can’t do this.

    If you want to record, you'll have to pay.

      I've contacted COX and have a DVR on its way to my home.
