I have this error code on TV, XRE 03134. Cox says they're working on it. It says I may have to restart the box. Restart? Unplug something and plug back in? Help.

Yes, unplug the power and wait 30 seconds then plug it back in. If that is difficult, or doesn't work, try resetting it remotely with the tool found here.
It appears timing is factor. You'd have to wait until Cox is done "working on it." Cox used to have a Systems Status page to have given us the go-ahead. Now it's just stabbing in the dark with reboots.
I think the "Cox says they're working it" from OP is from message given by box which is:
“Sorry, we’re having some trouble. We’re working to fix this as quickly as possible. We may have to restart your TV Box to fully resolve the issue. XRE-03134”Generic messaging..blah. Stabbing in the dark is right.
Oh, "We may have to reboot..." is different. OP tricked me.
