I have Foscam R2 security cameras that display video on my Android and Iphone that worked WAN and LAN flawlessly until this morning. Now, with the new software update, the cameras will not show up on either phone on LAN. Wan is no problem as I can see all cameras when away from home but in home they will not connect. I've reset dozens of times to no avail.
First, why is this in the TV forum? ::ponder::
Next, what change or update are you talking about? What changed on Cox's end? Firmware update?
Last, what model router or gateway do you have?
If this can be moved to the Internet section it would be helpful.
I said in my OP that this was a software update from Cox which changed the entire look and layout of the modem software and now none of my security cameras work on LAN....only WAN. In my camera software app, you only needed to list the external IP address along with the port number which worked for both LAN and WAN.
I've tried other IP Camera Viewers and they have the same problem...... Again, everything worked fine with the previous Cox software.
The modem/router is an ARRIS TG1682G

Sounds like a firmware update to the TG1682G. One option might be to request a firmware roll back, but since Cox has automatic updates, it may update itself after the roll back. I think the only definite way to fix the problem is to bridge the gateway and buy your own router. Or better yet return the gateway(TG1682G) and buy your own modem and router. Stinks that Cox made this change without notifying customers.
Finally talked to a Tier 2 guy who pretty much admits they took something away when they designed the new software/firmware. He's going to take it up at the next board meeting. He also suggested I could just buy my own modem/router from one of the approved list of modems.
