I have internet plus phone from Cox; I'm currently on the 150MB plan. I'd like to upgrade the internet, which requires a new modem. I don't want a combo/router unit; I have my own router setup and no reason to change it. The TM3402 modem would seem to suit the bill, but it seems to be unobtainable. I've tried both online chat and calling the nearest store; both told me that the panoramic gateway combo modem is my only option. Has anyone had any luck getting this modem from Cox?
That stinks that your getting the run around. Sounds fishy to me that they would happen to run out of the model that doesn't make them money. Maybe a moderator here can help. Would be great if they could UPS one to you. Good luck.
BTW, is this you in the thread below? Sounds like a similar complaint.

That's some mighty fine detective work, Lou. :-) Yep, that's me.
Nahh, I just happen to follow that forum too. If it wasn't you I was going to say the stocking issue is more severe then just one store.
I didn't ask the guy at the store directly, but he didn't talk like they were out at the moment and had more coming in. I took him him to be saying that they just carry one modem period.
Then either something changed or he is misinformed. Are there other stores around you can call? They must have eMTA somewhere in inventory. Or else what would they do for customers that just order telephone and don't want to rent a data modem/gateway?
