Internet and phone going down

Our phone and Internet have been going down on a regular basis (five times in the last 2 weeks) as well as for 24 hours a month ago. I've been told to reset my modem and everything will be peachy keen. I've been told that there is no way to determine where the problem is and that if it happens again, I should call back. This is a dangerous situation. Have others experineced a similar problem recently?

  • Hi Gary, this is rather concerning, and we're sorry to learn about these ongoing issues. Are the internet and telephone modem connected to a splitter? If so, we recommend changing this out. Splitters can lose signal over time or simply fail without warning. Please also make sure there are no loose or damaged connections in the home. Is your phone plugged in directly to the back of the modem or is it plugged into a phone jack in the wall? -Kevin M. Cox Support Forum Moderator
