how do you create regex rules?
what is the syntax?
I've tried several times AND googled regex and came away very confused.
I have seen examples in other posts here and tried some of those, and they do not seem to work.
when I create them either they send EVERYTHING to a folder I request or NOTHING.
really the spam filter options are garbage.
I do remember Cox webmail being around for a while; however, I didn't use it until the security of my older version of Outlook became obsolete. I remember different variations of Cox webmail, such as Classic and Enhanced, and Cox used to administer webmail. Cox now contracts their webmail.
Regex in these older posts probably worked in the earlier incarnations of Cox webmail.
The reason I want to use their filtering is that my wifes email has become inundated with spam.
the automatic spam filter for cox does not work well. I want to stop them before they get to the inbox. also I am not getting notifications to replies here even though I have subscribed to my own thread.
Check your settings: Lightening bolt > Settings > Notifications
It's actually Profile > Settings > Subscriptions
But we already knew he has subscriptions turned off because:
Flinx said:it says turn reply notifications off.
If he was subscribed to notifications, but is not receiving notifications, the bottom right of his screen would look like this:
What''s unclear is why we're apparently unable to unsubscribe from all notifications, but turn on notifications for a selected thread. I don't think notifications for a selected thread are working. If that's the case, he would have to subscribe to Internet notifications and Unmute this thread to receive notifications for this thread, But, then he would get notifications for all Internet threads for which he has not selected Mute.
Perhaps just unsubscribe from the group and then resubscribe.
Easiest way to do that is select "Internet" from the top row to get to Internet Forum and then select "Turn Reply notifications on" in the lower right. That will turn on subscription for ALL Internet notifications. I would prefer to unsubscribe from all notifications and "Turn Reply notifications on" for just the threads I select. Unfortunatel'y, that doesn't appear to be working. You can still Mute threads you don't want to review, but it requires a one-time click for each one.
I don't subscribe to anything but will get notifications in the Forum for stuff I comment.
Have you gotten notifications for this thread today?
Yes and for everything I've participated. Sometimes the red circles are slow but I eventually will get 'em. I think the only problem I've ever had with red circles is 1 wouldn't go away. Eventually it did but it was my only problem.
Thanks. Notifications are working then and it may just be me.
Wait... I just got a notification for your post.
I dont subscribe to notifications either,,, too many of 'em. If you ever get a notification that you can't get rid of, give me a heads up.. It happened to me twice and I contacted cox.help@cox.com. They figured out a quick and easy fix.
Jeesh...you're subscribed to every group. Unsubscribe, weirdo. As I wrote, I don't subscribe to anything but still get circles for participated threads and mentions. If i need to upload something, I'll temporarily subscribe (rare).
No, I'm not subscribed to anything, But, I am in all the groups. That allows me to post images without having to receive notifications for every post. I only receive a notification for threads in which I comment or when someone adds a mention of me in a post.
Join all the groups and then unsubscribe from each group (Profile > Settings > Subscriptions). You'll have the same thing you have now, plus you'll be able to post images without having to join and leave the group.
