I'm trying to setup a port forwarding for OpenVPN. However, my OpenVPN server doesn't show up in the "Connected devices" list. it's there, it can talk to the gateway and the internet. Just the dumb app can't see it for some reason.
Is there a way to set up port forwarding to an IP address instead of using the idiot app?
Yea ever since they moved port forwarding to the cloud, it hasn't acted right for some people. I remember someone saying they had luck after making a profile of some type for the server your port forwarding to, but I couldn't find the post. Is bridging and using your own router a option?

Have you tried a power cycle of the gateway after starting the rule? Found mention of the work around here. It also mentions disabling Cox advanced Security. See here on how.
I'm going to have to. Seems that the device finally showed up in my "Connected devices" list but when I try to setup the port forward it keeps saying "We're having some trouble". For the past 12 hours. This seems to be the most useless app/software that I've seen in a long time. Know a good modem that I can buy that is compatible with their gigabit service so I can chuck this thing in their store's window?

Modem yes, modem/router combo(gateways) no. Gateways are usually bottom shelf quality. Made to be cheap and easy to use so not good for a power user. Buy a separate modem and router. For advice, do you need Wifi 6 and what is your price point?
BTW, your not the only one who seems to be getting that "We're having some trouble" error.
