Today my internet was turning on and off randomly and The lady i spoke to today said it was due to a dmca back in June. I haven't a clue what she was talking about. i changed my password and am on a different pc from that time. I changed my wifi password in case someone hacked into my network
In looking up how to resolve it I went to Copyright | Cox Communications but it gives little info on how to resolve it. Im curious how exactly do you resolve it on your account as i see no button, scanner or anything like that.
I've read a few of these phantom violations. The process seems broken. A DMCA notification should be a letter such as a Cease & Desist.
Well if the problem isn't the DMCA, the question is what IS causing the problem. I would start with Malwarebytes and then do a tracert to google (through CMD) to look for latency or packet loss. If they see either, what model modem and router do they have? If OP meant

that the modem itself(lights) were turning off/on, then please describe the light process.
and June was correct. the guy i called at around july to stay on my old plan said he fixed the copyright too. idk, I just rebooted my modem and it fixed the issue. i'll just go with that as who knows how to fix it past that.
