Ip adddress

Had netgear r6300v2 all was well then lost 3 ip address. Was unable to connect so I bought Nighthawk. Still have the same problem.  Unit is set to permisson is give to all new equipment installed. 


With the number of people reporting this issue Cox needs to get involved to remedy the issue.

    This is the first that I am hearing of an issue like this. I want to make sure I understand what is going on. Do you have your router and all of your devices set to using automatic DHCP and not static? Cox utilizes dynamic IP addresses. This means the IP is leased to the modem for 24 hours. After that time, the modem looks for a new IP. If the IP is still available, the modem will continue using that IP. If not, the modem will be issued a new IP address. This is all done automatically.
