I upgraded a couple of weeks ago to the gigablast package, and am not getting anywhere near that speed. My place is not big, but to be on the safe side, I purchased a "pod" from cox to boost the signal. Result: several tests give on average ONE THIRD of the "gigablast" speed. That's less than what I had before the upgrade.
Cox already covers that by using the phrase "...up to..." so we can get 1 mbps and the gigablast would still be legit. They just did an "upgrade" in my area and I'm getting less than before.
Have you tried testing with ethernet direct to the modem/gateway?
Agree. Where are you not getting 1 Gbps? If you have 3 devices simultaneously connected to a WLAN, each device would get 1/3 the bandwidth.
There is only one active device. There are other connected devices but they are not active.
I thought data would be first transferred to the device that needs it most.
Is the active device wireless(wifi) or ethernet?
