Is it true that you can't buy a wifi extender that is compatible with Cox Wifi? When we had ATT internet service, I could pair it up with Netgear extender and get wifi broadcast out to my shop building which is approx 50' from the house. It worked out just fine. After getting Cox wifi, I found that I could not pair my extender up with Cox. Bought a different extender and it would not work either. So, what is the best solution to get wifi out to my shop building please?
Why would it not connect? Did you try separating the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz SSIDs? See link below on how. Could the extender "see" the Cox router even if it could not connect?

Your probably better off running ethernet to the other building and install a Access Point(AP). Just be sure the AP isn't on the same wifi channel as the Cox router.
