Recently, upon accessing a site via a non HTTPS connection, I have had an intrusive malware-like pop up appear, 2 or 3 times now, saying that our TV equipment is oudated and needs to be upgraded, which is a crock, since it works fine. Cease these invasive pop ups immediately or we will be switching to Verizon. Especially if you reply with some automated BS and lock the topic.
I searched 1 (800) 560-8131 and nothing Cox-related results. I'm not testing the URL.
Does UBlock allow you to right-click the pop-up to block?
Haven't tried, but yes, it should be able to.
There is: Verizon. Tee hee!
If I have to, that's the last resort. Bad enough I keep having to call and threaten to switch every time they jack the bill up for no reason.
What model cable box do you have?
Whatever it is, it works fine. It's from 2011-2012 or thereabouts.Just checked, it's a Motorola DCX3200-M
Something tells me doing that isn't going to stop these invasive, unconstitutional popups.
Now i'm really pissed off. I had the cable box replaced, and i'm STILL getting these pop ups on sites that HTTPS Everywhere refuses to work on.Here are the connections that I'd need to block via Ublock, however, I have zero idea how to do that.
You want to block the Cox domains?
They're two of the domains that show up whenever I get one of those things, along with the other 3, so yeah, what else am I supposed to do when Cox won't do a thing about them other than say "Lay down and take it"? one guy threatened to get a lawyer on them if they didn't stop, you know what they did? Replied with an automated message and locked his topic.
