When will firmware updates for the Puma 7 chip sets bugs be rolled out? And is this related to modems falling over/ disconnecting or is that a separate issue? Question is in reference to Arris TM3204 DOCSIS 3.1 32x8 with Puma 7 Intel chip set.

Arris TM3204 with Puma 7 chip sets suffers from bugs that cause spikes in latency and can blowi the hardware off the internet entirely..

@coxcommy Hello, we currently do not have any information regarding the next Firmware update. Cox works with our wireless equipment suppliers to improve and update firmware for our customers on an ongoing basis. You may be experiencing signal issues, which can also cause intermittent connectivity. I would recommend ensuring that all cables/wires are tightly secured and free of damage. This also includes any splitter and/or amplifiers you may have. -Kevin M. Cox Support Forum Moderator

The bug that first showed up on the Puma 5 chipset is also causing latency problems on the Puma 6 and 7 chipsets..Puma 6 and 7 use the x86 atom cores vs the arm11 in Puma 5 so it could be a the dedicated packet-handling electronics wrapped around the CPU coress or a firmware code shared across the platforms causing the issue.

Intel has rolled out a least one Puma 7 firmware update to cable providers (that's you Cox) to roll out to customers Have you (Cox) updated the firmware on Puma 7 modems like my TM3402?

A Cox tech has verified all cables/ wires are tightly secured and free of damage including splitters and we don't have amplifiers. Tightening wires and checking connections is unlikely to resolve a know bug that requires new firmware.

    Please answer theses questions:

Has Cox rolled out firmware updates for Puma 7 modems like the TM3402?

Puma chipsets make it easy to knoc modems offline with a DDoS attack. Has Cox resolved this?

Is this a hardware issue that's not fixable with firmware update?

What DOCSIS 3.1 Voice capable modems that use a Broadcom chip are compatible with Cox internet and voice.

    Thanks
