The last week and a half or so I've been experiencing slow upload speeds (10-17 Mbps). I normally get 29-33 all day long, my plan is a 300/30. Feels like my upload speed is being throttled. My download speeds are roughly in the low to mid 200's (Docsis 3.0 modem) Doesn't matter what part of the day I've tried to run speed tests to verify it hasn't made a difference. Having my modem plugged directly into any of my computers via ethernet vs through a router doesn't make a difference either. Here is signal for my modem DPQ3212
I live in OK. I will contact cox and see if I'm eligible for a free upgrade. They sold me this modem when I got their ultimate package of 200/20 a few years ago. Strange that this modem doesn't support past 100/10.
I'm not sure what the signals were before I encountered this issue. Is there a way to change my upload channels that might be possibly congested?
Thank you for helping me out with this issue, I really appreciate it.
Bahh, I just wrote a long post and the forum bug god ate it.
Long story short, try resetting the DPQ3212 with the hole/pin on the back. Hold it for 30seconds, and not the quick 1 second press you used to change between PC and router. It "should" pick the best upstreams available at that time, based on use and your signal levels upstream. Also, anything you can do to lower your upstream a few points might help, even though your levels in general aren't bad.
However, either way I suggest a new modem. I don't think the new phone modem is available in your area so you would need to use a splitter for a second modem. This would make your upstream even higher, which is not optimal. Are there any splitters else where in the loop you can remove before the modem?
I will have to do some further investigating when I get home later today. I haven't been using the reset button on the back. I have been unplugging the power and pulling the internal battery out for 20 seconds to 'cycle' the modem. Does pressing the reset button on the modem have a different outcome then just doing a delayed power cycle?
As far as I remember when cox was getting me setup with the ultimate package they removed 3 splitters that were installed, I think I only have one splitter right now which is goes to my tv and the other to my modem.
I will stop by my local cox store on my way home from work and see if they might be able to upgrade me to a Arris TM3402 or a comparable modem with atleast 24x8 channel setup or 32x8 modem. Which might be a issue as you said they only offer those to customers in AZ, CA, NV.

Oh ok. That works too, but I find the button easier. ::edit::

I "thought" it did when I had mine, but since there is no way to really check it, it's hard to tell. It did seem to make it take longer to reboot, so I took that as a factory reset. If nothing else, it can't hurt.

Just what ever you do, do NOT have them sell/rent/give you a phone gateway with built in wifi. It will conflict with the wifi router you already have. Cox is trying to push them on more and more people, so get ready for resistance. The problem is there doesn't seem to be a elegant solution for someone in your situation. Hopefully the store will have a answer for you. Good luck!
Thanks for the help. I have dealt with them in the past trying to sell me all-in-one devices before and I have had nothing but trouble. Looking at cox's website just now with supported modems. Looks like they don't sell a modem that is voice compatible which doesn't have built in wifi with more than 8x4 channels that isn't the TM3402. The website I gathered this information from is https://www.cox.com/residential/support/cox-certified-cable-modems.html
Hopefully they will sell me the TM3402 *fingers crossed*
I was able to get a new modem. I dropped my phone service since I wasn't using it anways and got a 32x8 Arris CM8200. Download speeds have improved but my upload is still the same.
Could this still be a signal related issue?
Thanks for the help!
