cox equipment should be no charge have you tried new/different cables between the box and tv?

If you contact Cox support by phone they will replace your box for no charge. They can mail you an exchange or you can go too the nearest Cox store and trade it out. I just did this yesterday and the new box is wonderful!

You actually turn on the box or you turn on your TV? I know some boxes have a power button but I thought most were constantly powered. Just curious.
