Adding URLs

I am relatively new to Cox. I have a Contour system for TVs. It seems to have a lot streaming apps available ... some free and some not. Is there any way to input a URL to the Contour box to connect with a streaming service? I have a few that I use to access the streaming offered by the corresponding providers. Right now, I have to tie up my laptop to watch any of these on my large screen TV. I would like to let the Contour box do this, if possible.

  • Long story short no. It has no browser. Why do you need it though. Anything you stream should have an app. Are you trying to access the streaming service that isn't supported by the contour system?

      Thanks for your response.

Yes, I have access to some streaming that doesn't (to my knowledge) have an associated app. Too bad that the Contour doesn't have the feature. Guess I'll have to seek other solutions.

I haven't heard of a streaming service that doesn't have a app these days. Most people stream from smart TVs, which require a app. Are you talking about a site that streams content illegally? If not, can you share what site it is? Maybe they do have a app but Cox doesn't have the app in their library. If so, I wonder if the new Xumo box might have it.
