Service outages

  1. Why when we have a power outage cox takes 5-10 hours to be resyored after the power goes back on? And why do we not see a credit to our account for the hours or days its out? You guys charge for every little thing so how about our credit for lousy service and a ridiculous wait for service to be restored?

    After your "ridiculous wait," Cox would credit your account $4.

    If Cox service is to be available 24/7, your cost-per-hour would be measured in dimes.

    R = Rate (Hourly)
    T = Time (Hours per Billing Cycle)
    B = Bill (Cost of Service)

    Equation:  R × T = B

    R = ?
    T = 744 ((24 hours per day) × (31 days in August) = 744 hours)
    B = 300 (I don't know the amount of your bill, but let's assume it's $300.)

    Equation:  R × 744 = 300
    R = 0.40

    Assume a 10-hour outage.
    0.40 × 10 = $4.03

    Perhaps it'd be a moral victory.
