Ridiculous series of events; poor and very questionable customer service practices

So, I got a DMCA violation. Not the first, but the first in a long time.

The notice says that I can get the actual notice sent to Cox in the "customer portal'.

I click the link. No mention of copyright notices. Anywhere. I click the entire site.

So I request a chat. The agent knows nothing and furnishes to me the local Cox phone number, which of course I already know by heart.

I call.

The agent can't find the notices either. I am forced to give MY ACCOUNT PASSWORD to the agent (remember those notices that say 'we will never ask you for your password?' There's a reason why you shouldn't be asked.). She still never finds the link. But somehow, she is able to see the date(s) and content of the DMCA notices, even though she is unable to direct ME to see the notices sent to MY account.

After concluding the call, I attempt to change my password. The "page is down". I chat another agent. He offers to change my password for me. Um, isn't the idea of having a secure password to have sole knowledge of same? Why does Cox need to know my account password so badly? I'm certain that they could find it if requested by a govt agency. he tells me the there is a site outage and to try later. So for now, some cox employee knows my password and may share it with whomever she pleases. Lovely.
