Outlook and iPhone6s Email is receiving mail but is unable to reply or to send new messages

Cox required I change setting on PC and iPhone by 1/25/2018 Settings were changed per instructions. Both Outlook and iPhone6s can receive emails at this time Neither Outlook on PC or iPhone email systems are able to reply to or send new messages. Seems like this issue is more widespread than me. After multiple hours on phone, on Cox twitter help line and chat line, no one seems to have an answer. Cold, frustrated and tired in Omaha.

    What are your current client settings for your outgoing mail server? Please include the server name, port number, and authentication.

    My problems were resolved by reset all of the correct server ports, as outlined by COX, for both Outlook and my iPhone 6s and then changing my COX password. Of course you need to make sure that the password is also changed on Outlook and iPhone. Then do not access email accounts for 24 hours, actually I went 30 hours before I tried it again. So far it is working. Make sure that you do it in the correct order, port settings first and then password change. Let the email account stew for 24 hours.
