It's not required but DHCP can lose the mapping to the printer manager of the printer. The first step to troubleshoot is a static address.
I'm unsure about the DVR...perhaps an IP conflict with the printer and Contour can't inform you of the conflict.
I was going to suggest a static IP, or at least a DHCP reservation, but I don't think that will work with a DVR and a gateway. Maybe Cox can see the logs remotely and tell what's going on.
I also wonder if this has anything to do with WMM power save. The DVR and Printer are two devices that would be connected but in a idle state for long periods of time.

Yes...all that. Printers use a lot of power, go into a deep sleep and lose its IP.
Why is the router assigning an IP to a DVR? A cable-box would be on a different network. Must be a wireless cable-box.
