Modem router issue.Buckey

I had trouble adding a new router. The computer would not read the addresses from netgear. So I had Cox come out 2 times to get internet working. So they suggested I upgrade to the newer phone modem. I did.. Now I can't add my own router and no wifi. What can I do. I don't want to pay cox their 10 bucks a month to rent their dual band modem?

Seems cox has a market and excluding other routers unless their is a fix for this.

Just a heads up... posting a personal email address in a public forum is the first step to a subsequent post about all the email spam you're suddenly receiving.  You may edit your post by clicking "More" under your original post and then "Edit", in case you decide to remove it.

Hi Webuck1, I edited your original post to remove your private information and deleted another post also containing the same information. When you hook up the Netgear router to the modem, are you able to connect to WiFi on other devices in the home? While we generally do not offer support for third-party devices, you are still welcome to use your own wireless router for service. -Kevin M. Cox Support Forum Moderator

how are you connecting to new unit?

i had to add my netgear router to the panoramic router by using one of the 2 out-ports(1 to pc) because older laptops wouldn't connect to wi-fi on panoramic combo unit.
