Installation of internet 1Gig question

I want to upgrade from 500 mb internet to 1gig.  I have asked about the installation and if they will run wire inside the house to the seperate rooms I need to hardwire devices.  I have not been able to get a straight answer.

Has anyone had the installation for the 1 gig speed that can tell me if they ran cable inside the house to different rooms?

What kind of wire are you talking about? Coaxial or ethernet? If ethernet Cox doesn't do that. You will need to hire someone.

  • Hi,

When we install residential internet service we only install the coax line that leads to the modem and make sure services are working. We do not install Ethernet cables throughout a home to connect other rooms. We recommend reaching out to a local electrician who offers the installation of network cables if you wish to have ethernet lines connected throughout the home.

Thank you!  It is crazy how hard it was to get this answer when you call.

Have you thought of DIY? I can give advice if you want. Also, another option to network your house is to use coax/MoCA. Do you have coax outlets in the rooms you want hardwired connections?
