Gigablast speed

Greetings, I recently upgraded to the Gigablast  level internet connection. I am a bit confused. I know a Gigabit of data is a thousand megabytes so when I test my internet connection it runs around 169 mbps download.. that seems wrong. Am I missing something here? thanks..

    Are the test results based on being hardwired, if so what port are you using? If not can you log onto cox.com and run a hardwired speed test and email your full name and address to cox.Help@cox.com so we can take a look.
