I have the same problem. My Amazon & PayPal accounts were hacked. Fraudulent activity & unauthorized access. My cox.net email address was my login ID. They are getting password updates for my email account almost as soon as I make them. Closed my PayPal account. No more problems there. Amazon account was locked for a week. Once reactivated I placed two orders. Did not get an email confirmation of the order so I knew there was still a problem. Had Amazon customer service resend the emails. Email did not arrive. I changed my cox.net password and had them resend. Got the emails. Had the account locked again. I know exactly how they are doing this. Contacted tech support. They played dumb.
All this happened shortly after I was moved to the “new improved COX email experience.” Not so improved I guess. I am a long time customer (> 20 years) and pay Cox about $320/month for all my services. Probably switching to FIOS soon.
If Cox wants to discuss they can call me. I’m sure they can figure out who I am from my account info. Not logging back into this site again. Not using cox.net email anymore either.
