Arris DG2460 - USB doesn't work?

When I rented my Netgear router from you the USB port worked great for my older printer to be used wirelessly. I was told this router would as well when I was forced into changing units. I've tried everything. I cannot get this port to work. Why? 

Also all the Arris apps don't work for Android either. Why?
