Why did my Internet bill go up almost 40% in 7 months time???

In December my bill was 53.99, now COX charges me 73.99 an increase of almost 40% in 7 months time (it went up last month). When I called they told me that their only competitor, CenturyLink, only offers 1.5Mbps here. They were right, and CenturyLink's site was wrong (it said 12Mbps before they fixed it). COX is using their virtual monopoly to gouge customers who have no choice other than no practical connection to the Internet.

It's outrageous.

Call Cox - this is a TECHNICAL support forum, not a place for billing/account related issues.

My guess is your were on a 6 month promo deal and now you are paying full boat.  But, as Chris said, "CALL COX" this is a technical forum.
