Webmail problems

It appears Cox has decided to change webmail and is no longer going to allow folks to have the 'classic' view.  This has been imposed on my wife much to her chagrin.  I sign on to webmail (not often) and I still get the classic view.

Coincident with this, the name that appears on e-mails she sends is now mine, in all capital letters!  I go onto her e-mail in the cox support account and it lists her name correctly capitalized (first letters of each of her names, which, not surprisingly, is a different name than my name!).  But right when the new, 'improved', non-optional, slower to load, webmail access changed, her name changed.  I really don't want to be identified as the all capital letter guy responsible for what she writes!

Any ideas?  Benevolent (or not) Cox Overlords?

    Hi Docster,

To clarify, does she send emails only from the website or email client?  If she is sending from the website, please send us an email to cox.help@cox.com with your name, street address, and the email address experiencing the display name issue so we can take a closer look.  Thanks.

Yes the new mail server is slower and another great attempt by COX to get rid of customers. I'm trying some 3rd party webmail clients out to see if one of them can make this new email server more liveable. I would suggest something like that.
  • our "new & improved" (yeah, right!) disaster started in july? every day has brought a new problem, some easier to figure out than others.

i do not know how  long it's been happening, but just recently noticed that when i send a reply from my email client, it shows being sent by a second persona (which is attached to a second cox email account)....but it's NOT!  if i look in the out box, it's there with my dominant persona address.

it seems to be something like docster is experiencing. why is what i see never what i get when using cox?

and i know...it's MY software, right??? nothing has changed there & everything looks still correct. and i KNOW cox doesn't support eudora. so i don't expect help.  just giving sanity check to docster.

I have read what is on this leg of the forum and am posting my out look on Cox Web mail. While I use an email client (apple Mail client) and out look, and I have used gmail (web) some. I have found that Cox web sites are filled with molasses.(really really slow) web sites. Customer service Via phone is better than most, but not as good as Apple support. I spent an hour on line doing. CHAT SUPPORT trying to get into Cox Classic Web Mail. Trying to find an option to block a domain from receiving eamail from the domain, which is nothing more Than a Spammers web site. After spending that hour, I get a case number and someone higher up is going to look at it. I may or may not get an answer from Cox. Let’s look at it in reality, not going to get an answer, because COX CLASSIC WEB MAIL Has been discontinued. Oh yeah did COX ask its users? Why’ no, so me bean counter has said the new web mail (enhanced) is better and cheaper. Well, With all the problems i see coming, Ireally doubt that it will be cheaper. You first get some one that need help like me, we have wasted two hours (his hour and mine) only to send it higher up for resolution. Fact there is no resolution. I Enhanced web mail you cannot had a domain o9nly. A single email. Bad,. When you click on a radio button in web mail it brings up a menu, which does not go away even after selecting and option, you have to close out for go back a page to make it go away. No Enhanced Web Mail is not a service i will use much any More, I will be changing to another free Web Ma. Yeah another feather for COX in running of customers. And this is the only place iI could find to voice my dis-satisfaction with the CHAT SUPPORT and web mail.
