using my vcr to record progams

I am old school and still use a vcr.  I am not home to watch the only thing I record and that is my soaps on channel 10 NBC.  I was fine until everything went digital.  Now having to use a mini box I am unable to use my VCR to record programs.  How can I fix this without getting rid of Cox?

You can connect the RF out on the mini-box to the RF in on the VCR and you should still be able to record. Once connected this way you would use the mini-box to change channels and the VCR can be programmed to record whatever channel the mini-box is set to at a given time.

Hi Chris, There is an RF in on the mini box but not an RF out. The only outs are the HDMI and the Coax. No worries though. I have to leave the channel on 3 on the tv and channel 3 on the vcr, then use the mini box remote to change to a channel that I want to record. There doesn't appear to be any other way since the vcr is only able to get the channel that the mini box is set on when I turn the tv off. Thanks for trying. Rhonda

The coax connector you mentioned would be the RF out I was referring to. That is what would connected to the antenna/RF in on your VCR and leave the VCR set for channel 3. Once this is setup you can change channels with the mini-box and record whatever channels is being viewed via the mini-box on the VCR.
