Unable to send or rcv cox emails using email client

My email client has been rendered useless, as I am no longer able to send or rcv cox email with outlook on my PC, which I had long been able to do with no issue.  Has cox changed their POP email server? or the settings for same?

EDIT

Emails sent from client are now showing up in internet browser webmail - 1+ hours delayed... but still not being rcvd by client, as I am sending to myself as a test.  Emails being rcvd by webmail are still not being rcvd by client.  No changes on my side, worked up until this morning.  Please advise ASAP.

So much for "You will be upgraded automatically so you won't need to do anything to get access to these new features. If you use a POP/IMAP client (e.g. Outlook, Mac Mail or other mail apps), you'll also experience faster, more reliable service automatically." rcvd in a cox email touting the advantages of this new email experience...

  • UPDATE 7/24/2017

Specific to my issue, it seems without taking any action or making any changes and just being patient (7+ days), all send / rcv issues with cox email have resolved themselves.  Per my experience, cox will advise you to update, reinstall, check, etc, etc, YOUR system, all the while claiming their systems are working fine, when in the end, the issues stemmed (at least for me) from them all along, specific to transferring to this new and "improved" email service.  VERY frustrating to say the least as I rcvd no communication from cox that I may experience these issues, nor did anyone advise me to simply wait out the system "upgrade" to see if the issues persisted once completed, which turned out to be the solution for me.

I still have not seen an option to auto forward Cox email to multiple email addresses with the new system.

Use one of the other mail servers. I assume you are set to use pop.central.cox.net, as I was. They apparently don't work on weekends here. I switched to the west server and it worked fine.

Thanks for your reply Tiffany... been using the west.cox pop servers for many years with no issues, up until 7/14/17 AM, as posted.  As of Friday (7/14), email client presented no errors, just no emails.  Today (7/17) looks like emails to primary address are trickling across to client but with a significant delay.  Have not rcvd any emails to secondary email address.  This looks to be an issue with the new email experience Cox is transitioning to.  I will follow up if issues do not clear up within a few days and as needed.  Thank you.

Still not rcving emails from secondary address - also, settings have been dumped by new cox update, very frustrating... how to auto forward cox emails to another non-cox address?  Auto forward setting in settings only allows for a single address as far as I can tell... how can I add email addresses as I had account set up prior to update?

Please referance this site.  If you're an older customer with cox you may have very old out of date e-mail settings.

If you are using a pop.central/east/west.cox.net then you my friend are on super old e-mail server settings.  Also check your ports numbers and protocols.

To auto forward your e-mails please log into your webmail.  Hit the settings icon (gear) in top right.  Goto inbox on left, and auto forward.  That's where you will find the forward option.

I have not been able to receive Cox email on either my android phone or PC since 7/11/17.  I had been prior.  I have been using the IMAP settings for quite some time with no problem.  But can no longer receive.  I have tested it and it seems to be sending but nothing is coming into my inbox.  It appears that spam is being put into the spam folder.  Great, I can still get spam!

Logging into https://webmail.west.cox.net does not show any new emails since 7/11/17 either.  However, if I log in using the newer web site https://myemail.cox.net, the emails show up.  It took forever for the site to sync but once it did I can get new emails on that site.

Still NOTHING in my Outlook on PC or on my phone email app!!!!

Your issue either sounds like POP is setup on 1 device and indicating to remove e-mail once downloaded or you have a cox account issue.  If the later is the situation, you should call cox and ask for a level 2 internet support agent.  Be advised they tend to have large hold times

COX HAS CHANGED THE SERVER SET UP. All of our accounts need to be reset because of Cox's UNANNOUNCED changes ... and they haven't posted any fixes.

GREAT customer service ... if you don't want any customers.
