Unable to send email from computers at home

I have two email accounts, both will not send email

My wife has the same on her computer both will not send email

we are able to receive email on all accounts

we both use Outlook  10  and Windows 7

I can send email from my iphone

went to accounts to test with new passwords   Log into incoming works,  send test e-mail fails .. Send test e-mail message:   The server responded: 421 Cannot connect to SMT

My internet and network work fine

On more settings nothing is checked,  I tried checking requires smtp  authorization and restarting outlook...   same problem

On advanced setting It has port  25

My wife can send email using her own website account from go daddy,

What am I missing here??   seams like cox sever  is messed up ???

Settings have not changed on my, nor my wife's, computer. Send worked Sat morning then stopped Sat afternoon on both computers

  • Hi Crumbster,

It's possible that your email accounts are using outdated port settings. When an account doesn't meet the current security standards, it is susceptible to security issues, such as compromised passwords, exposing personal data, or exposure to malware. Please review your settings per the instructions found at https://www.cox.com/residential/support/cox-email-server-settings.html. Make sure that you are updating your account settings on all devices: computers, tablets, and phones.

I tried changing settings on the more settings menu, Outgoing server tab and clicked the Requires authentification box

went to advanced tab and tried port 587 with  TLS   ...  tested and logged on to incoming  but got this on send

Send test e-mail message: The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).  The server responded: 421 Cannot connect to SMTP server 68.6.19.8 (68.6.19.8:587), connect error 10060
