Ubee Modem Constant Disconnections

Hello Support,

I have a Ubee dual band router. The 2.4Ghz band is constantly disconnecting from the Internet on an almost daily basis, while the 5Ghz band is stable. I always have to unplug/plug the modem since there is also no apparent way of doing a soft restart. Also, it's not an option to ignore the issue because I have some devices that only use the 2.4Ghz band.

Hopefully, someone will be able to help,

Adam

If you do a scan for wireless networks do you see more than 3 including yours? If so that could be an indicator there's too much wifi noise for the 2.4Ghz radio to perform reliably.

    Hi Chris,

Yes, there are way too many 2.4Ghz signals. Is there a way that I can do a soft reset if that's the case?

    Thanks!

Disconnecting the power is an effective means of resetting the device. If there are too many other 2.4Ghz radios in your area you likely won't be able to use that band regardless of make/model router in use. The only effective workaround for that problem would be to move farther away from the noise sources which is often impractical especially if you're in an apartment or other high density residential situation. In those situations moving to 5Ghz is your best option.
