Twitter emails being blocked

None of my emails from Twitter are coming through to my Cox inbox. I have tried to change spamblocker settings and which domains to "allow" but they are still not being allowed. Cox keeps claiming they are not blocking Twitter but several others are having the same problem. I need to reset my Twitter password and the only way I can do that is to click the link in the email Twitter has sent to me over 20 times now. None of those emails have gone to my inbox, spam, or trash folders so I can't click the link to reset my password which means I can't access Twitter. How many times does Cox have to be contacted about this problem before they fix it??

  • Thanks Becky, seams to be working now   I sent 2 confirmations and got both.  Thanks for your help.

Something is very strange, teach525.  I use my gmail account on twitter so always get email from them.  As a test, I tried to change my email to my cox.net account.  Twitter took the change and said it sent confirming email to my account ... nothing received.  I changed it back to gmail an immediately received a confirming email in my gmail account.  Something is happening to email sent from Twitter to a cox.net account   My spamblocker is set to "Deliver junk email to the WebMail Spam folder for later review." and the twitter mail is not in any folder, checked them all.

Hopefully, a Mod can help getting this fixed.  In the meantime, a work-a-round is to use a gmail or other web based email account but that won't help you with a password reset.  Maybe contacting twitter support will help.

Same issue here last night, Twitter sends the link to change passwords and nothing shows up in my cox.net account.

Even getting stranger the more I test.  I have both twitter.com and verify@twitter.com white-listed on the "Allow and Block Messages" settings, did not help, still nothing when I try to change my twitter email to cox.net.  Now, I have a private domain that redirects email to my cox.net account.  I changed my twitter email to that account and volia, the e-mail came through.  So, can't get email to a cox.net account but can get it when sent to an account redirected to cox.net.  Major difference is:
    - when changed to cox.net account the Received from is spring-chicken-av.twitter.com
    - when redirected the Received from shows a Godaddy (registrar for my domain) server and the spring-chicken server is father down the Received from list.

Mods, if you want copies of the email headers to help solve this issue, please let me know, thanks.

  • Hi Everyone,

Is this issue affecting only password-related emails from Twitter? Or do other Twitter emails (like suggestions on who to follow, notifications about new followers, etc.) arrive in Webmail successfully?

I can't tell, Becky, as I am unable to successfully change my twitter email to Cox.  I make the change but can't get the email with the link to confirm it ... email stays at the previous until the new is confirmed.

We know of 2 functions are not working:
    - teach525 and seymor posted change/reset password email from password@twitter.com
    - I have found change email address email from verify@twitter.com

both are sent from a server like spring-chicken-ax.twitter.com

  • Hi Everyone,

I definitely think there's something odd going on. I tried to change my Twitter email preference to my cox.net email address, but the "change" request has yet to show up in my Inbox. Like you, Allen, I'm unable to confirm the change. I am going to submit a ticket to our network security team for further investigation. I'll update you as soon as I get more information!

Thanks Becky, I'm glad you were able to duplicate the issue.

  • Hi Becky,

Any update on this? I have the same problem and I'm locked out of my Twitter account because of it. I have no way to verify my identity or reset my password because my Cox email address won't receive any messages from Twitter Support. Gmail has no issue whatsoever. This is incredibly frustrating.

  • Hi Electricaesthetic,

Our network security team has unblocked several IPs that were identified as Twitter mail servers, but attempts to change my Twitter account email address still failed. The team is still investigating. I'm sorry for the delay!

  • I am having (as well as others) the SAME problems.  Cox is apparently as of 8/8/2016 blocking email-forwarding from GoDaddy servers that goes to my cox.net email address.

To work around the problem for now, I had to change GoDaddy to forward my email to myemail@yahoo.com account, and then have my Yahoo account forward copies of all emails received to myemail@cox.net account.  NOT ACCEPTABLE long term.

    Please fix!  See thread here:
