Tuning Adapters still not working! (Cablecard/Tivo)

I have two Tivos with Tuning Adapters that have not been able send SDV channel requests for 5 days running, preventing access to a majority of my subscribed channels. I am getting a bit frustrated.

Both of my TAs restarted and then could not acquire the channel tables Friday night. I can receive 1300 HBO, so I know the cable-cards are working correctly. The tuning Adapter diagnostics show an "OutOfState" error right after rebooting and receiving the channel table data.

After an hour with the Cox CSR, they set up a tech appt for Sunday. The tech called to cancel the visit. Says that they had a bunch of customer problems, all with TiVos /cablecards. They first blamed it on the TiVo side, but he said "they figured out that something changed on the Cox side, and that it won't be fixed until Monday"

No change on Monday. Made another Cox CSR call and went through the routine again. Sent out a truck this AM. Tech spent two hours ripping apart all my connections / swapping cable cards etc only to conclude it was "something in the system not working".

Well, yeah.

How does one escalate such things?

I see some other similar messages, but there must be many more customers with this problem. Reply if you are!

    Holazola,

The field technician can escalate the issue to his supervisor if it's not resolved before he leaves. Were you provided any ticket numbers? If so, I can check the status. Please email us at cox.help@cox.com with the account details and a link to this post.

Hi, I have also been dealing with the "Tuning Adapter" problem for the past 23weeks. I work in the IT field, so I am very familar with how these things work. I have swapped out at least 6 TA's since dealing with this. I used to have a Tivo, but I got tired of paying the monthly fee for just using their guide. During that time, the TA' worked fine with the Tivo. In July I purchased an HD Prime device that is a 3 tuner that plugs into your wired network and then you access live TV through the app on a Roku or Amazon Fire TV. It uses a cablecard, that has been working fine along with the TA. A little over 3 weeks ago I tried to tune to the Epix channel and could not. I checked and found the TA's yellow light blibnking. This means that it is trying to activate. The next day I went to a Cox store and swapped the TA for another one. I hooked it up and let it sit, blinking, for 48 hours and it never activated! Fast forward and I have invested over 10 hours in this problem. Every tech you get on the phone acts like they are reading from a script. Then they want to set up a service call. I tell them that unless they can promise me an actual Cox Technician don't bother, which they can't. These "third party" techs they have don't know the first thing about cablecards and TA's. I even went into my basement and disconnected the main feed line coming in and hooked that line directly into the TA and let it sit blinking for 2 hours and it never activated! By doing that, I have elininated all other variables in the house and it proves that this problem with TA's not activating is on the "Cox side" of the equation!

I have even went to two differnt managers of Cox stores and told them everything and all they do is promise me that they will "be on it". Truth is they are just buying time. Let me tell you something, Cox does not care about customers usimng cablecards and TA's! They just tolerate them because of the FCC. They don't care that I have been with them for more than 30 years or that I pay almost $200.00 a month! But I am preparing to file an FCC complaint and I am also going to cancel all services with Cox!

Do yourself a favor and go to Direct TV Now and ATT Uverse.
