TG2473 Gateway and Apple Bonjour/AirPrint

This gateway will not work with the Apple Bonjour or AirPrint service.  I have both a PC and a mac, and the wireless printers are connected to the network and stable with printing from the PC.  Its just the Mac that won't maintain the connection.  iPad and iPhone cannot print via AirPrint either.  I will have to purchase a modem/router combo or separate components.  This is what tier 2 tech support told me today.  Why they didn't tell me that when they installed this unit 10 days ago I don't know.  I have been trying everything I could find to fix it, and I guess its just that Arris is not compatible with Bonjour.

Unfortunately or technician's would not support installing a printer while they may be able to connect it to the gateway testing and software for it would be beyond our scope. With the Bonjour software through Apple it would not be something automatically setup for Gateways that we carry. If you where already using a Aiport for that setup a standalone modem rather then the Gateway would be the best option to allow you to use the Aiport instead.

I was not using an Airport.  It was a Motorola modem and TPLink router.  Motorola (ARRIS) modems are reliable, but the gateway has some issue that prevents the wifi from playing well with Apple.  If installer can't fix the issue, they should at least recognize the Mac or other Apple devices, and stop right there.

The technician should have verified connectivity for internet devices but the printer would not be a internet supported device. Where the Ipad and Iphone able to connect and get online through wifi?
