Telephone dial tone
When I pick up my phone to dial a number I get a dial tone that pulses 4 times then sounds normal. I must have something set wrong.

That tone usually indicates that you have a voicemail. If you haven't set-up your voicemail, the following link provides you with instructions on how to do so: http://bit.ly/1zzhK8X. Once set-up, you can access your messages.
