If they're asking for personal information please forward them as attachments to phishingreport@cox.net for immediate processing.

Hello,
I'm having a difficult time understanding all the verbal and visual garbage that Cox puts out about doing everything they can in their power to control spam.
I am receiving at least 10 emails a day addressed to "Undisclosed@cox.net."
Since my email address is NOT "undisclosed" why am I receiving this obvious spam? Why is Cox sending it to me when my address is obviously NOT "undisclosed".
Anyone know the government agency to complain to?
What software do I need to purchase or steps to take to stop this spam, that Cox claims they are taking care of?
P.S. to Cox moderator, it doesn't matter whether they are asking for info or not. IT IS SPAM that Cox says it is fighting.
Thanks

The battle against spam is a never ending battle and therefore it'll never be stopped. As techniques to detect and stop spam evolved the spammers learn ways to circumvent these new techniques. I suspect in your case your email address is being included in the blind carbon copy field which would explain why you're receiving them. If they're just spam messages they can be forwarded as attachments to spamreport@cox.net for processing.

Thanks for the reply.
I understand the difficulty of telling the difference between wanted email and spam. Mainly because the email address is the same.
Is there anyone at Cox who can say (with a straight face) that Cox is unable (unwilling) to block an email addressed to "undisclosed@cox.net" when my address is not even close to the address on the email.
The one thing I do know is that no matter what the secret reason for sending me this email, someone will eventually program and distribute a program allowing us users to block these unwanted and UNASKED FOR email.
In the meantime, anyone who is fed up and finds an agency to complain to or programs, I will be happy to pay for this info.
Thanks,
Sporty

The emails appear to be addressed to you using the blind carbon copy field (BCC) which would explain why you're receiving them. You could try adding the sender's address to the block sender's list however this likely won't provide a long term fix since the sender's address is often forged.
