SNYHD unwatchable

Forget the UConn women's game was a blowout, it was unwatchable on SNYHD this afternoon. Tons of pixelation and freezing. It was just the game feed, the commercials were perfect. Also, the video would freeze but audio didn't miss a beat. Have to assume it is a network feed issue, no problems with commercials in HD & SD feed was fine.

Do they have a online feed? If so, I wonder if it was effected.

Also, I find it kind of funny that they call a NY sports channel SNYHD = Snide = Derogatory or mocking in an indirect way.

Only o/l feed I know of is via the Contour app, no stand-a-lone feed. Since it was such a blowout, didn't even try.

Yes, SNY is the network with the contract for UConn sports. Games not picked up by other networks, Majors, ESPN, CBSSports, etc are carried by SNY.  Why NY, don't have any idea but they do carry some pro games out of NY.

  • Hi AllenP,

I am a HUGE fan of the UConn Women's Basketball Team (I've carried a secret flame for Geno since I saw the team play in the 1995 Final Four), so I understand your distress at not being able to watch the game. I'm so sorry that channel 1062 was unwatchable during the game! I agree with your assessment regarding a feed issue, as we received many customer reports echoing yours around the same time period. Is the channel working correctly at this time?

Us too, Becky, we were actually in Gampel that day in Jan 1995 when they first beat Tenn. we knew it was special but had no idea of the dynasty it would lead to. Don't know if it's working now, only watch it for UConn games & not able to test it now. Since it was such a blowout,, not a big deal, if it was a close game, that's a different story.

  • Hi AllenP,

In case something like this happens in the future, I wanted to let you know that nearly all of the UCONN games are available online for live-streaming at ESPN3 (http://www.espn.com/watchespn/index), as well as the WatchESPN mobile app. The team's schedule at www.uconnhuskies.com/sports/w-baskbl/sched/conn-w-baskbl-sched.html lists the media outlet that has the broadcast rights for the game.
