Slow speeds with Motorola SB6141 Modem

I just ran the internet speed tool and got 8Mbps download and 9Mbps upload. I have the Cox Internet Premier package

I've checked my account and found that my modem is correctly identified as the equipment that I'm using.

However, I've read in this forum that if my account does not properly identify my equipment as DOCSIS 3.0, then the speeds will suffer.

Am I able to check and change that on my account myself or does this have to be checked/changed by a Cox representative?

I have not yet checked if my modem has the latest firmware update so that may be an issue as well.
