Slow Internet speeds (again)

Just did a speed test and it came up with a 3Mbps download int he past week it has been as high as 50Mbps all far from "up to 150Mbps" why should I pay for a better service if that's not what I'm getting. And these slow speeds are really getting old.

    Standard slow speed process:

    1. Test your speed on a wired connection
    2. Bypass your router if possible (you may need to restart your modem for this to work)
    3. Use multiple testers to get an accurate idea:
      1. http://www.fast.com
      2. http://speed.googlefiber.net
      3. http://speedtest.net
      4. http://myaccount.cox.net/internettools/speedcheck/speedcheck.cox
    4. What modem and/or router are you using?
    5. Any way you can get us a readout of the signal levels that the modem has?

Sounds wierd that you would be cap'd right around 10Mbps - sig levels don't look bad, SNR looks good, modulation is good - highly wierd.

I'd call in and have one of the techs check it from their end.  If you have another modem lying around have them activate that and test to see if there is a difference.
