Slow Internet (San Marcos) - .45mb - 20mb download/ 10mb upload (Premier)

It has been two days so far, at .45mb-25mbish currenltly sitting around 30mb download (not the 150) I should be near.  I have a Arris SB6121 modem, in front of a router. (TP LINK C7).  I contacted COX yesterday but they could not send anyone to look at it.  Have rebooted modem, router, computers.  Got a reset sent from Cox for the modem, connected directly to the modem, replaced the cable from wall to the modem and so far still same results.

There is nothing new inside the house (no new wires, equipement, modem, router).

The SB6121 modem is only 4x4 channels, approved for up to Preferred (50Mbps) service.  You need a minimum of an 8x4 for Premier.  I would definitely upgrade that modem, it's the limiting factor.  You router should be able to handle the speeds.

Is the 30Mbps tested over WiFi or with a wired connection.  If WiFi, please test with a gigabit device wired directly to the modem and post the result.  This will indicate if it's a WiFi problem or an issue with the cable / modem.

Ok well thats not what CoX states (they said premier for 6121 on thier site).  And I have gotten 100mb stead, up to 150 ish w/ boost.   Not sure what changed in the last 3 days.

the 30mb is over WiFi, and 10mb is over wired, which I know used to get about 100mb.   Going to go double check some settings on the wired just in case (still not sure what "changed" since wensday where I was doing great to thursday where it just was horrible.

Opps, meant to edit.  Wired Connection now showing 124Mb.  still about 40mb for wifi, so say that part is the router, but give it 5-10 minutes and it will be back to 2 mb.

This is what the modem is currently showing when I got the 124mb.

Sorry but the Cox approved modem page says Preferred for the SB6121, Premier for the 8x4 SB6141.

They need to not both start with "P" mixing them up.  Even w/ that I was still getting 100MB which looks currently to be steady.  I'll look into upgrading to a newer modem, but nothing should have up and changed in the last few days to drop me down to .45mb.
