Sharing Files on the Cloud Drive

I've uploaded files to the Cloud drive. I've added my wife to share these files. When we try to open them, to edit, they're read-only. I can set the folder so it's not read-only, but the files in the folders are still read-only. What's the point of cloud storage if the files can't be edited from serveral locatoins?
